Beach Boys – That’s Why God Made the Radio – first take The fine folks at Capitol / EMI Records have snuck us an early copy of the brand new album from the reunited Beach Boys.  We’ll be taking the time to post our thoughts here – keep checking back for more updates.

First impression: Great harmonies.  Lots of Brian, and he sounds good.  Earthy production.  Catchy songs, lots of melody too.  Of course, a lot of the lyrics deal with nostalgia, but shouldn’t that be the case?

The bottom line: If you like the Beach Boys, any era, you will not be disappointed here.  This is not an embarrassment, as so much of their material over the last 30 years has been.   In fact, we’re really impressed so far.  Stay tuned for more updates.
